Montauk Point Lighthouse

This postcard shows the beautiful lighthouse

at Montauk Point It is located at the easterly tip

of Long Island and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

This lighthouse was authorized in 1795 by President

George Washington, and was completed in 1797.

This postcard was sent to me by Carolina, who lives

in Brooklyn--one of New York City's five boroughs.

Thank you, Carolina, for the lovely card. I really

like the beach in front of the lighthouse too. I think

it would be great to go 'beachcombing' there!
